Shri Maheshwari graduated as a Production Engineer from Amravati University in 1987 and completed his Post Graduation Diploma in Production Management from Annamalai University. He started his career with Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited (GHCL) in 1987 as a Trainee Engineer and later joined National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in June 1990 as Assistant Executive (P&E) and was responsible for execution of projects in Southern region. He left NDDB in 2006 and joined Reliance Industries Limited as a Chief Manager (Projects) responsible for Project Management & Packaging Development.

He joined IDMC in 2009 as Assistant General Manager & was appointed as Executive Director in IDMC in August 2018. During his career, he has been involved in the successful completion of various projects in the field of dairy, cattle-feed, pharmaceuticals, poly film plant, and aseptic milk packaging stations.
