BPSCL Power Supply Corporation Ltd. (BPSCL)


BPSCL Power Supply Corporation Ltd. (BPSCL) is a Joint Venture between Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) (50%) and Damodar Valley Corporation(DVC) (50%), engaged in power and steam generation and  supplies power and steam (at various pressures) to SAIL’s Bokaro Steel  Plant (BSL) and surplus power to grid. BSL is a coal-based thermal power plant located in Bokaro district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) launched its ‘Giftmilk’ programme in Bokaro district of Jharkhand funded by BPSCL under its CSR initiative on 1st February 2018. Jharkhand Milk Federation (JMF) ‘Medha Dairy’ has been identified as the supplier for the programme. Daily about 3,500 students in 7 Government schools are provided with 200 ml of pasteurised fortified flavoured milk with an objective to address malnutrition in the children and to provide nutrition values to government school children. BPSCL has come forward and generously provided support for this initiative.

The initial phase of distribution has received a positive response from the students, parents as well as the community. The students enjoy the milk and eagerly wait for the daily offering. The teachers have reported a steady improvement in the attendance of the schools.
