Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)

 

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is an Indian multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. It is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It is India's largest oil and gas exploration and production company. It produces around 72% of India's crude oil and around 48% of its natural gas.

NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) launched its ‘Giftmilk’ programme in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Mehsana districts of Gujarat funded by ONGC, Ahmedabad asset under its CSR initiative on 5th February 2018. Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union ‘Amul Dairy’ has been identified as the supplier for the programme. Daily about 1627 students in six Government schools are provided with 200 ml of pasteurised fortified flavoured milk with an objective to address malnutrition in the children and to provide nutrition values to government school children.

The distribution received a positive response from the students, parents as well as the community. The students enjoy the milk and eagerly wait for the daily offering. The teachers have reported a steady improvement in the attendance of the schools. 

The programme was completed in June 2019 after one year of Giftmilk distribution.
